We are proud to embrace Christopher Perry as a senior executive, formerly of Perry’s Certified Accountants, one of the oldest professional firms of practising UK accountants to serve the Mobile Homes and Holiday Parks industry.
Indeed, some of Perrys earliest caravan park operating clients were themselves instrumental in the formation of the first caravan trade organisation (now The British Holiday and Home Parks Association), which Perrys were proud to have been associated with for all these years.
The emergence and development of the Caravan and Mobile Home Park Industry were explosive from the early 1940s. Perrys assisted with direct input and overview of various legislation introduced by various governments to regulate the industry. In particular, Perrys significantly influenced the tax reliefs available to Caravan Parks that became enshrined in the 1952 Finance Act and, in many respects, still holds good today. They were also closely involved in negotiations with the Government on various aspects of the 1983 Mobile Homes Act and, more recently, with several high-profile tax cases through the High Court and Court of Appeal, where members of the caravan trade associations generously noted their successes.
As part of Burnside’s team of professional advisors, Christopher Perry and the team continue to challenge the ambiguities within the current tax legislation, which have had such a damaging effect on the parks industry with resulting concerns and uncertainties.
This unique ‘niche’ area of expertise now enables Burnside’s to operate Nationally to assist Park Operators with the myriad of finance and taxation problems that confront not only the Parks Industry in particular but the business world in general.
Current taxation and finance complexities are far removed from those early, less sophisticated days. They require a greater understanding of the current legislation and how it impacts and influences the specific peculiarities relevant to all caravan parks and their owners/operators. No “one solution fits all” answer exists because no two parks are the same.
Christopher Perry recognises this fact and can bring an understanding of those difficulties and complexities that affect the family business and thereby, through that understanding, assist with taxation advice, business planning and succession arrangements.
The creation and protection of wealth through profit and asset management by strategic finance and tax planning are the cornerstones of success. With Christopher Perry and the team of qualified professionals, Burnside is proud to continue to offer professional services to a high standard.
Working from their offices in London, Bristol, Bishop’s Stortford, and Wiltshire, Burnside offers a broad national geographic scope and coverage of the UK for their existing and prospective clients with easy access to all major road networks.
Christopher Perry will be pleased to visit and assist any Park Operator in the UK where they may have matters of concern. He can be reached at either office on 01279 466766 or by e-mail: christopherperry@burnside.biz.
